The approaches that should be taken to develop an understanding of a supply chain process.                                             

Supply chain is a process in between company and its suppliers from production and distribution of products to final buyers. Efficient supply chain process can reduce the risk and costs.




It provides network between companies and suppliers to produce and deliver products efficiently. To maintain the quality services companies should evaluate their performance. The process of supply chain follows series of steps to fulfil the criteria and demand. To become competitive in market companies should follow the basic criteria of supply chain process which includes:

  • o   Plan
  • o   Develop(sourcing)
  • o   Make
  • o   Deliver
  • o   Return

APPROACHES:

o   REDUCTION IN THE PROCESS OF SUPPLY CHAIN:

By implementing new strategies and plans in the logistics phase of supply chain, companies can improve delivery time of the material with quality and better services.

This process provides products and services on actual demanded time if one can improve the cycle by reducing the time of delivery in several different ways. We should follow some basic elements to meet the needs and reduced delivery schedule:

1.      Efficient communication:

Main focus in real time logistics and supply chain is the strong communication among all the parties involve in the transportation system. Face to face meetings is the great approach to maintain shipment schedule properly and effectively.

2.      Transparency:

The process of logistics in between supplier, manufacturer, trader(agent) and customers must be transparent and clear. All the parties aware of the material availability and material tracking process and strong follow ups leads clear transparency and reduction in supply chain process. 

3.      Analyze Information:

Companies must analyze transportation data among all parties in logistics chain. Information is the key in keeping situation near to normal and effective. 

4.      Material Tracking:

Another main key point is the material tracking. Material tracking aware of the arrival of material so the customer can easily arrange custom clearance documents and other documentations.

 

Companies should minimize the parties involved in the logistics chain specifically in importing or exporting the material, like they should use one freight forward, clearing agents and traders and agents to minimize the extended duration of supply chain process.



EXAMPLE:

A manufacturing company Kaizen pharmaceutical pvt ltd have reduced their supply chain process by decreasing number of logistic parties involved. Mostly on trader or agent involved and one freight forward performing all the tasks.
