CHALLENGES IN LEAN MANUFACTURING: 👀

Lean manufacturing minimizes waste and reduce costs by continuous evaluation in operational efficiency. It minimizes the shortages and up to date inventory level. It increases production time.

Elimination of waste provides benefits to the company in many ways. Lean manufacturing helps in high efficiency, improves quality, better use of employees, reduces excess inventory and optimize space.



Challenges In Lean Manufacturing:

Although there are several benefits of lean manufacturing, but also there are challenges along the way:

·         Overproduction:

It leads to the more production of the products then customer demand, producing material in great quantity leads to excessive inventory over production causes large batch size, inaccurate information, not the actual production, increase working hours of labor and other departments.

 

·         Transportation:

Increase in transportation system, moving materials and products without their need. Also the transportation costs increases.

 

·         Defects:

In over production of material and in line material production process the chances of defects and errors are on higher side.

 

·         Over Processing:

Companies acquires lean manufacturing so they can do more with less. The process time of the material from making raw material to finished goods increases. Utilization of chemicals and other raw material increases as the process extends.

 

·         Cost:

The main element and the most focused component is cost. It acquires money. Too much utilization of material, transportation, labor costs too much money.

 

·         Labor:

Increased labor work causes increased utilization of company electricity, food supply, capacity. The criteria leads too much workers to utilize to fulfil the tasks.

 

·         Inventory management:

Over production of the material leads to unstable inventory management system. Increased batch size causes inventory standard level batch sizes disturb.

 

·         Supply chain issues:

By implementing just in time ordering system must ensure that raw material must constantly coming the the perfect rate to meet the operational needs. This also becomes major challenge in lean manufacturing process to meet the criteria.

 

·         Technological Challenges:

Lean manufacturing also requires updated tools from new production system to statistical analysis  software so the quality and improvements in production line.
